I got an alert for active aurora's one night so I jumped in the car and headed for the coast. Unfortunately thick fog forced me to turn back.
Determined not to give up I made my way into the hills to try and find a vantage point above the fog. I settled on a small farm lane up in the hills around Numbugga region.
By this time the aurora light was fading so I got a 1minute shot facing south with the star tracker in the hopes to expose more colour.
As I stood in the dark I could see the fog rolling up the hill to the north. This single tree overlooking the valley drew my attention so I swung the camera around and shot a 2minute exposure for the foreground and tree.
I then Blended the sky exposure with the foreground with photoshop.
